A whimsical yet sophisticated bathroom in the lower level of the home was inspired by the large Asian ancestor portraits the client owned. Picking up on the blue in the gown of the Patriarch, the walls were painted and glazed for richness. Faucets originally had white porcelain inserts in the handles with an ‘H’ and a ‘C’ for hot and cold. Candy painted the porcelain inserts with accurate Chinese symbols depicting hot and cold.
We enjoy using materials that are hand made; embroidery, pottery, hand painted finishes on furniture, fixtures, gold and silver leafing, natural materials used to create lighting fixtures, the list goes on. When these touches are placed in a home they give instant charm and beg to be asked what their story is.
